The Wedding is referring to a union between opposite forces. It speaks of the resolution of differences, a proper relationship between the inner and outer aspects of life (between subconsciousness and ego-consciousness). However, the card is symbolising more than that. It speaks of the Cosmos, and its achievement of balance by uniting the different elements, creating life, earth, us.It speaks not only of a union between a man and a woman but how utilising phylacteries (pilu-Alana Sanskrit), the fusion of atoms, called the Fire of the Sun (Agni), the beginning of new life. The Wedding also speaks of connection to Earth, the Sun, the Universe and all living things. It also hints at the importance of equilibrium, how to balance opposing forces. The Wedding or Union have a wide range of meaning, and you have to take into account when you read the Tarot.
